AHJ Database

The authority having jurisdiction inspects the job. The database holds what each one requires, how to reach it, and how its inspection is booked.

The authority directory
Booking type is the column most people are looking for.

Find an authority

Search by name, or upload a plan set — the address on it resolves to the authority that covers it.

The authority is set by the site address, not by where your company is based. Three counties means three authorities, asking for different things.

What it requires

Booking method, lead time, cut-off, telephone number, portal, and whether it uses SolarAPP+ — where we have established each.

Booking method

Online, telephone, email, or a named portal. Recorded per authority because it is rarely the same twice.

A cut-off is not a lead time. One authority inspects a single day a week, where missing a 6 a.m. Monday window costs seven days. Another's 3 p.m. Thursday cut-off buys the following Monday.

Confidence

Each answer carries a score. Some authorities publish plainly; some contradict themselves across pages; some answers came from an archived copy of a page now gone. A low score means ring them.

Telephone list

Every authority we hold a number for, in one list.

Coverage

5,478 authorities held. 610 researched in full against all 82 questions, 2,777 partially, 2,091 not started. California is complete at 540, Florida 63, Nevada 7.

For Kev. Two routes left out because the code calls them unfinished: ahj_explore is "Empty for now — scaffolding", and ahj_portals has moved to the internal site.
