Reflective Labels

Reflective solar PV labels are specified by AHJs and fire departments at rapid shutdown initiation points, roof access locations, and disconnect positions where labels must remain visible in low-light and night-time conditions. All reflective labels in the Planset Signs range are made on engineer-grade reflective vinyl with UV-cured inks and gloss laminate.

Reflective Solar PV Labels — Enhanced Visibility for Low-Light Locations

Reflective solar PV labels are specified by an increasing number of AHJs and fire departments for rapid shutdown initiation points, roof access locations, and disconnect positions where labels must remain visible in low-light or night-time conditions. All reflective labels in the Planset Signs range are made on engineer-grade reflective vinyl with UV-stable inks.

Reflective labelling is specifically called out in some rapid shutdown requirements and is commonly required on California fire department placard specifications. Type I and Type II reflective grades are available — contact us if your AHJ specifies a particular reflectivity class.

Reflective labels are available as standalone items or as part of a complete reflective label pack for micro inverter and DC string installations. Wholesale and trade accounts include volume pricing, net-30 terms, and same-day fulfilment on standard stock.

About Solar PV Labels

NEC Article 690 requires permanent, legible, weather-resistant labels and markings throughout every solar PV installation. Labels must identify disconnecting means, source circuits, output circuit conductors, the interactive system point of connection, and rapid-shutdown initiation points.

Planset Signs manufactures the full set of labels required for a compliant California solar installation — from the AC breaker in the main panel to the conduit runs on the roof. All labels are pre-cut to standard dimensions and ready to apply straight from the pack.

What You'll Need for a Typical Install

  • Breaker label at main panel AC breaker (NEC 690.53)
  • Sub-panel backfeed breaker label if applicable
  • AC disconnect label at all disconnecting means
  • Conduit labels at each end and intermediate access points
  • Rapid shutdown initiation label at service entrance
  • DC source circuit write-in labels at combiner/disconnect
  • ESS labels if a battery storage system is included
  • Unit ID labels for multi-inverter or multi-string systems
