Solar PV Warning Labels — Hazard Identification Across All Install Types

Solar PV warning labels are required at locations across micro inverter, DC string, and energy storage system (ESS) installations where electrical hazards must be communicated clearly to workers and first responders. The Planset Signs range covers warning label requirements across NEC articles 690 (Solar Photovoltaic Systems), 705 (Interconnected Electric Power Production Sources), and 706 (Energy Storage Systems).

Warning labels mark dual-voltage hazard points, backfeed conditions, arc flash risks, and rapid-shutdown initiation points. Each label is printed on Hi-Tack engineer-grade vinyl with UV-cured inks, rated for outdoor exposure and long-term adhesion on the metal enclosures, conduit, junction boxes, and panel covers typically found at these locations.

About Solar PV Labels

NEC Article 690 requires permanent, legible, weather-resistant labels and markings throughout every solar PV installation. Labels must identify disconnecting means, source circuits, output circuit conductors, the interactive system point of connection, and rapid-shutdown initiation points.

Planset Signs manufactures the full set of labels required for a compliant California solar installation — from the AC breaker in the main panel to the conduit runs on the roof. All labels are pre-cut to standard dimensions and ready to apply straight from the pack.

Rapid shutdown initiation label at service entrance
