Written by the National Fire Protection Association, the NEC 2014 NFPA 70 made major advances in PV safety.

The 2014 code article 690 was updated to include the first nationwide requirements for rapid shutdown on rooftop PV systems, greatly improving firefighter safety. Article 705 further clarified interconnection protection and expanded scenarios for connecting with utilities.
